We Acquire Waterloo Drivetrain,
N. America’s Premier Rebuilders!

  Press Release

Press release (Laycock Overdrive Unit)When you need a transmission, overdrive or differential for your British car, you know it’s not always an easy thing to find. Most people in the North Bay have found that the easiest way to track down hard-to-find parts is to ask British European Motors to do it for them.

We’re always happy to do it, but it still takes time, and we know how precious time is when you’re anxious to work on a beloved car.

So, we decided to cut through all the fussing and waiting and go straight to the source: In September, we acquired Waterloo Drivetrains, North America’s premier fabricator of British motorcar drivetrain components – transmissions, gearboxes, drivetrains and differentials.

Waterloo was established in 1998 by John Black, an Englishman who is considered one of the world’s foremost automobile restoration experts. The company uses a sophisticated online parts ordering system (www.waterloo-dtr.com) to cater to customers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Waterloo Drivetrain Systems DivisionAs a new BEM division, Waterloo has been relocated to Rohnert Park from its former location in Austin, TX. John, freed of Waterloo’s administrative headaches, continues as head of the division and oversees all of its fabrication, restoration and repair projects.

We’ve also beefed up Waterloo’s web site, giving it more interactivity and information. We plan to market the Waterloo brand extensively throughout North America.

“With  John and Waterloo here on our site, our customers will not have to wait as long for repairs on drivetrain components,” says BEM president Mark Singleton. “Anything we can do to make their lives easier is something we are happy to do.”
